Not Just another Banquette

Not Just another Banquette

Another banquette seating has graced our presence but it's not 'just another banquette'. CM Studios are the designers behind this beautiful Paddington Terrace home, and approached us to design a custom banquette seating area and dining table for the hub of the home.

CM Studios have designed this space with shape and texture in mind. Through minimising colours, and moving towards a monochromatic colour palette the scheme has allowed shape, texture and tone to become the forefront of the spaces design.

With this in mind, we kept our use of materials neutral through the use of hardwood oak finished in matte black, paired with our high-grade leather in a deep olive green. For the design it was essential to keep the continuous use of linear shapes through the base of the seating and the dining table to stay in tune with the characteristics of the space. The curved dome shape upholstery in the backrest adds a softness to the intricate and seamless profile, creating a subtle interaction between traditional and modern joinery techniques.

The U shape banquette curves into the extended terrace featuring floor to ceiling black framed windows, showcasing the luscious green garden beyond. The banquette bench is extended on the left wall to connect the dining and kitchen simply and seamlessly, creating a directional flow through the space.

This project is an absolute favourite of ours, once again it was a pleasure working with CM Studios.
